I loved using the EEE pc until the screen died and am waiting now for a replacement. Pity. Hope this doesn`t occur with my new one. Would liked to have given more stars as it is a great pc.

Worked great for a week, and was a really nice little PC to use, but then the screen completely died so it had to be returned. Not sure if mine was an unfortunate isolated case or a more common fault.
I would have given 5 stars had the fault not occurred.

This is a beautiful piece of kit with high build quality and an attractive appearance. The XP operating system fires up quickly and it picks up my wifi instantly from rest. It is easy to use all over the house or on the move. I have large hands and poor eyesight but I have no problems with the screen or keyboard, provided I am careful to keep away from the very sensitive touchpad while typing. Battery life is about 5.5 hours with wifi or slightly less with mobile broadband.

I got this to take to Russia for 2 weeks. Since I was meeting up with someone there I wouldn't be able to communicate with except by writing, I thought this would be a good way to communicate. However, it sucked for this. My friend could not type well on it because it kept screwing up.. maybe because of jerking, movement, from being on trains or on laps. One of us would be typing on it and then it would switch away from the word processor. This shouldn't happen on a machine that is designed to be portable.
The touch pad is not very good. Can be hard to use for this reason. Slow, not very sensitive, easily doesn't work if your fingers are sweating. The touchpad buttons are too hard to press for easy use. Not good at all.
Battery life is good but no way is it 6 hours. More like 3 hours maybe, max, if using it. They should be more realistic about battery life in their advertising imo.
It's quite heavy, too, really. A solid chunk. Even so, I would not personally go for a smaller screen size because even with 10", that is kind of small for use. It fit into my (big) handbag but took up too much room and weight for my liking. I had to put the charger in my luggage.
I wish it had a DVD drive. You have to buy an external DVD drive to use DVDS.
Otherwise, it powers up quite quickly and runs well and it withstood travelling around Russia with some mildly rough handling.
The wireless is good, automatic, and picks up routers though I only got to use it for internet in one hotel (wifi often isn't available or you need to pay or get passwords.. ugh, not easy).
I can't really see myself using this much more... and a bigger screen would be better for a spare computer. I don't really think it's worth the price but for someone who will always use it set on a flat and still surface and does mostly use it for internet browsing, then this will be good for you.

Machine is good bright screen and fast start. The screen is not normal 1024 x 768 but can be squashed to that mode. I found Yahoo e-mail moaned about the video size but continued to work. The internet works well and was proved with free months antivirus NOD32 so was up and running on my home wifi in minutes. The battery life is about 4 hours good but can't get the claimed life personally. It comes with a soft simple case which is OK but not provide enough protection for air travel. I am pleased generally but the shift key on the righthand side takes some getting used to. Upgrade the ram to 2GB made little difference.
