This is a very nice, small, light and very portable netbook. The biggest advandage for me is a long battery life and a really nice display. This machine is a perfect choice for travelling. I would not recommend it for somebody who is going to use it for a regular work. But for being online while you are travelling and for doing basic stuff like e-mails, web browsing, IM, some easy document reviewing and editing it is a really good choice. I installed a Linux operating system (Fedora 12) and everything works well. There was a problem with wired ethernet in Fedora 11, which is now resolved in a new kernel which is included in F12.

Got this for my girlfriend as she can do all the stuff she needs to do on this little thing rather than a bulky laptop. Good, fast connectivity and she's able to run itunes and picasa as I upgraded the memory. Haven't tried running Office as she can do most things with Google mail and docs. Top stuff.

this is a great little netbook - unlike the others samsung nc10 et al (which everyone on my commute seems to have), this actually looks nice when shut and not cheap - like someone actually put some design effort into it rather than just shrinking their 15" laptops. what an interesting concept.
all the spec is similar to other netbooks of the same price but the battery life is amazing because of the hybrid thing.
also it comes in a bunch of good colours
white does look a bit mac book ish - is that a good thing? personal opinion i spose
the touch pad isn't so great though and it doesn't have bluetooth - not such a big deal really
but i LOVE it!

Great little machine for its price. With Netbooks now so capable I suspect few of us really require laptops.

The Asus EeePC 1005HA is simply everything I expected from a netbook. All others at this price, and beyond, failed in one crucial area - battery life. The EeePC 1005HA will happily work for between 6-8 hours, using wifi and MS Office 2007 packages. The EeePC 1005HA can also easily manage TV streaming and Torrent up/downloading. One of its, now, main roles is to stream BBC iPlayer programmes whilst I am in the kitchen or tinkering in the attic. After buying this netbook, I have used my 15.4" Laptop much less than I ever did. The 1005HA is a superb bit of kit for the price and the amount of use it has had, due to the lengthy battery life and convenience of this, fully justifies the purchase.
The only critical points I can think of are, firstly, it uses the Windows XP operating system. Whilst this is fast and very stable, it is very difficult, with my lack of knowledge, to connect to a Windows 7 home network, such as I have. Also, being XP, one cannot take advantage of the free downloadable Anti-Virus software from Microsoft. Consequently, I use Avast free downloadable Anti-Virus program, which works well. Whilst the wifi catcher works faultlessly, even if the BT HomeHub doesn't, one must use a wifi dongle for times that a hotspot or other wireless network are not available when out and about.
My two critical points are just that. I would not think twice about buying this netbook again were it to be damaged or stolen. The 1005HA is, to me, exceptional performance, stylish and fantastically priced to the point that I wonder what other manufacturers think they are doing for charging so much for their own machines which offer less!
