Painfully slow, flimsy, spongy keyboard, rubbish keys, clunky and chunky. Takes forever to do anything. Very disappointed overall. The battery does last for ages which is just as well considering the amount of time I spend staring at it while it grinds away for ages starting up or opening anything.
If it had only cost me 100 pounds I'd still be disappointed. The battery is good but this is still a one star product.

I have had my Asus 1000 HE laptop since march this year. It is still running very well. This is my first netbook. I sold my Dell XPS due to the fact I did not use all the functions and it was heavy and had a very bad battery life.
This laptop has the same memory as my old laptop but is a quarter of the size and weight. Not only is it very easy to travel with and has all the functionality you would recommend it.
I have absolutely no regrets battery life is great and I have loaded lots of different software from GIS and Remote sensing to office etc...

Looked at these eee pc's for quite a while and always thought they looked cheap and nasty in photos, now I see one in real life it is a very smart looking machine with what looks like a solid durable design. Battery life is advertised as being a max of around 10 hours, thats about right, but expect a still great 7 hours with heavy usage. I bought the 2 gig memory upgrade at the same time, I would recomend this, windows xp may be the cheap os for memory usage but it does love 2 gig. Keyboard is compact but very nice to use, touchpad is as good as a touchpad can get.
Only two things that this pc would benefit from, 4ghz cpu and a screen resolution of 1600x1200, but lets face it we will need to wait another 5 years at least before this starts to happen on such a small mobile pc. Then when it does I am sure the eee pc will be one of the first.
If your a looking for a very mobile pc with good keyboard, excellent battery life, great networking then this is the one for you. If you are expecting to play all the new 3d games then you are looking at the wrong pc.

Nice netbook with plenty of features. Can run on battery for several hours. Doesn't seem very durable though, my mousepad started coming off in the first week and the external surface is easily scratched. Warranty took care of the mousepad fairly quickly though. Overall, good netbook only if you're getting it on some kind of offer, not good enough for the full price.
