I am very pleased, it actually exceeded my expectations. For a netbook it has a good performance and build quality. Don't expect to be doing lots of multitasking or running CPU intensive applications, but who buys a netbook with that in mind?
Windows 7 actually runs better than what I would have expected. The 11.6 inch screen is a much better size than 10 inch as it actually allows you to load web pages without having to scroll the windows horizontally. I used to have a 10 inch one and it really annoyed me.
Only negative point for me is that Asus decided not to include a protective sleeve with it. My previous Asus 1005ha came with one.

The this netbook is very slow. even it is a problem to wathch the iplayer and rmvb video. the price is to high to this kind of performance. Not recommend to buy this product.The main problem is the CPU. My friend's 1005ha is faster than my. Only advantage is long battery life and good apparency. It is the worst product I've ever bought in amazon.

I bought this netbook a week ago. I was looking for a cheaper one (ie asus 1005) but settled on this because with the extra money you pay you get 2Gb of Ram, 250Gb hard disk and windows 7. So here are my detailed comments:

Positive:
* Appearance: This is one of the most beautiful netbooks in the market. I believe that the simple design makes it clearly very nice looking.
* Battery: It promises 10 hours of battery. Even though I only manage to get around 7 hours, always with the wireless in use and running a lot of applications like firefox, msn messenger, skype, media player and normal brightness. If you want to go upto 10 hours I believe it is possible but you must switch off the wireless and get the brightness to the minimum.
* Processor: The processor doesn't promise too much. At first the 1.33 Ghz processor for me was a disadvantage for that netbook but asus helps you make most of it with the overclocking feature. Even though by default the overclocking is set to 10%. You have to get into bios and change that to the maximum which is 30% and which will give you aprx a 1.7Ghz processor which is more than any other netbook (N270 is 1.6 and N280 is 1.66) Be careful with the bios.
* Memory: 2Gb ram is more than enough for a netbook. You can run at the same time a lot of applications with no real delay at all.
* Hard disk: 250Gb again is enough. Even normal laptops use a 250Gb disk. Also bigger and faster drives are not battery friendly. This drive is divided into 2 parts. C: and D: C has all the OS files and is the drive you will install your programs. D can be used for backup and saving your data, to prevent data loss in case you need to format C drive.
* Screen: Screen is HD 1366 x 768 widescreen which is good quality for a netbook. Also the brightness of the screen is very very good.
* Sound mic and cam: I review all these three together as I mostly use them together for Skype. Sound quality is very good and mic is clear and loud. Even though the camera is not very high quality. I am not sure but it will probably be 1.3MP. Note that it has SRS Premium Sound 5.1 surround.
* Touchpad: It is small enough so you wont press anything accidentally while you type and there is also a button to deactivate it if you want to. Multi touching gestures are a nice advantage that most netbooks have but the only gesture you will regularly use is scrolling up and down. Touchpad is not separated from the netbook's body, it only haves some dots on it to let you know that you are touching the touchpad even if you are not looking. Also there is only one button which is a left-click if you press it on the left and right-click if you press it on the right.
Negative:
* Fingerprints: The surface of the laptop is fingerprints friendly and you must regularly clean it.
This netbook is perfect if you want more than a normal netbook, with extra battery life, nice design and windows 7. If you don't really care of performance you can easily go for cheaper one. Also if you don't need the 2Gb RAM and 250Gb hard drive and windows 7 you can buy the same model with XP for about 100Gbp less. Also if you can wait for about 2 months, until January, there would be a new generation of intel atom proccessors and more new netbooks that will wide your choices and get the prices of the existing ones lower.
I would really recommend this netbook. I bought it for 225 pounds which was only a bit more than other lower specifications netbooks. I really love it and use it much more than my notebook which has double performance than this netbook (2.5 dual core processor, 500gb disk, 17' screen, 3 Gb ram).

I bought this netbook for my wife after alot of researching various products. We've both been really pleased with it so far. Windows 7 is excellent, quick start up, runs multiple programs with no problems. Its very lightweight, battery life and WiFi connections are excellent and has everything we need except for a DVD drive - bought a separate one cheaply on Amazon, but in this era of memory sticks only really need it now to install software we already have on disks. Minor niggles (and they are minor) - glossy case does show finger marks, webcam and sound aren't the best, and with my clumsy fingers I wish the touchpad key was split into a right hand and a left hand. But these really are minor quibbles - its an excellent product at a really competitive price.
